“Live lightly”
We have to cultivate contentment with what we have.
We really don’t need much.
When you know this, the mind settles down.
Cultivate generosity.
Delight in giving.
Learn to live lightly.
In this way, we can begin to transform what is negative
into what is positive.
This is how we start to grow up.
–-Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, “No Excuses”
“The unmourned disappointment becomes the barrier that separates us from future dreams.”
Julia Cameron, “The Artist’s Way”
“Learning is movement from moment to moment.”
J. Krishnamurti
I have a little green notebook which I carry in my purse at all times. Wherever I am, whenever I read or see words that are meaningful to me, I write them in the book. I don’t usually know why they speak to me or what I am going to do with the quotes; but I am posting some of these poems, quotations and sayings in this journal with the hope that they might give you, the reader, some pleasure, insight, knowledge, or just plain enjoyment.
If you have a response, please submit your comment below. It would be a pleasure to hear from you.
Thanks,
Myrna Leigh Cohn
I don’t actually see the quotations here, but I love the idea and am adding a couple that I have seen recently:
1. on a bottle of water in Mexico: La pasion te lleva a conquistar tus suenos. Passion carries you to the fulfillment of your dreams.
2. on a coffee cup: Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others. – Buddha
Karen, dear,
I just found your comment of 12/26. So sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
I love your quotations and I will try to get these on to my quotations page.
You should have been able to click on “quotations” at the top of the site.
Try again, and keep in touch. Love, Myrna
