Today is the first day of the rest of my life; today is the first day of the year 2009. Wow!
The days ahead are open and welcoming, just like my shoreline visions.
I wouldn’t use the word “happy” to describe today or any moment in time; no-one has ever defined “happy” or “happiness” to my satisfaction, not even the Dali Lama who believes happiness “is a reasonable goal which can be achieved through training the mind”. Contentment, joy, love, satisfaction, peace-of-mind — these are the words that come to my mind at this moment.
For today and all the tomorrows, I wish you love.

I Wish You Love

I wish you bluebirds in the spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss
But more than this
I wish you love

And in July a lemonade
To cool you in some leafy glade
I wish you health
And more than wealth
I wish you love

My breaking heart and I agree
That you and I could never be
So with my best, my very best
I set you free

I wish you shelter from the storm
A cozy fire to keep you warm
But most of all
When snowflakes fall
I wish you love

I wish you shelter from the storm
A cozy fire to keep you warm
But most of all
When snowflakes fall
I wish you love
